Kenya and Tanzania safari adventure

Both Kenya and Tanzania are magical destinations with stunning scenery, abundant wildlife and diverse cultures. From Nairobi we head into the Great Rift Valley: here we visit both Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru which are home to an incredible variety of birds and wildlife including the endangered rhino and elusive leopard, plus, in season, a million flamingos. We include a visit to Elsamere, former home of Joy Adamson. In Tanzania, we have spectacular game drives in the Serengeti and explore the Ngorongoro Crater by 4WD. From our base in Marangu we have a variety of optional activities including a day walk on Kilimanjaro, and visits to local villages or or a school. Finally we head to the spice island of Zanzibar, a tropical backwater with beautiful white sandy beaches; a relaxing way to end a fascinating trip.

Small group adventure holiday

Typically you will be sharing your experiences with between 4-20 like minded travellers (depending on the trip, operator and how many others are booked on the trip) and you'll have a group leader with you. Whether you are travelling alone or with friends its good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy. This trip will appeal to travellers of all ages who enjoy meeting new people as well as seeing new places.

How this holiday makes a difference

We are actively recruiting and training East Africa leaders and there will probably be at least one with each group. Additionally we have a local camp master, and all the food is resourced in markets. Where possible we use campsites and hotels that are locally owned. We use a specialist local operator for our visit to the Ngorongoro crater, and local guides and transport for Kilimanjaro day climb. We have a large (400 litre) water reservoir on the expedition vehicle so we can fill up where water is plentiful, and not use water where it is a scarce resource.

Global warming is a reality and to help you make a difference by reducing the carbon dioxide that is produced when you travel we offer a chance to carbon balance your flights. We encourage all our clients to do this and do so for all our staff travel. Go on do your bit!
